If you own an RV or motorhome, you know how much joy and adventure these vehicles can bring. However, the time may come when you decide to part ways with your trusty companion. Whether you've upgraded to a newer model or find yourself no longer using your Class A Tiffin or Class C Forest River, donating your RV to RevUp Richmond is a fantastic way to give back to the community.

How pickup works
When you donate your RV or motorhome, RevUp Richmond ensures the pickup process is seamless. We typically utilize specialized RV-transport flatbeds or arrange for drive-away services, depending on the vehicle's condition and location. If you're storing your RV at a facility, our team is skilled in coordinating with storage lots to facilitate a hassle-free pickup. Keep in mind that the length and height of your vehicle matter, as most states have a maximum clearance route of 13'6”. We’ll handle all logistics so you can focus on your next adventure.
What drives donation value
The value of your RV or motorhome donation depends on various factors, primarily the condition of the house systems like the roof, slides, plumbing, and air conditioning. A well-maintained vehicle with recent service records will typically command a higher value, while any signs of water damage can significantly devalue your donation. Additionally, seasonality plays a role, as spring auctions tend to yield the highest values. For classic RVs, an appraisal may be necessary, and we recommend IRS Form 8283 Section B completed by a qualified appraiser to ensure proper value assessment for your tax records.
Documentation you need
- Vehicle title (signed)
- Recent service records
- MSO for off-road vehicles
- Appraisal for classic RVs (IRS Form 8283)
- Bill of Sale (if applicable)
Richmond specifics
Richmond's DMV has specific regulations regarding the donation of RVs and motorhomes. It’s crucial to have the vehicle title transferred correctly to RevUp Richmond to avoid any potential liability. In Virginia, state-titled vehicles generally require the title to be signed over; however, in some situations, a bill of sale may suffice. Our team is here to guide you through these requirements and ensure a smooth donation experience, tailored to your specific situation.
